Wedding date 08-08-08

Friday, Eighth of August 2008

If this is your wedding day, you have planned wisely, according to medieval number lore. The number eight has long been associated with blessing and eternity. The scientific symbol for infinity is the number 8 on it's side. The hand sign for the number eight was the most common gesture of blessing illustrated in medieval religious art.

Celtic Ring with eight diamonds

The Josephine's knot wedding ring is eight repetitions of a figure of eight knot. It is often called a "lover's knot" because it links separate loops of cord together. This design is one of the most traditional of Celtic knotwork wedding rings and would be especially meaningful if your wedding day is 8-8-08.

The Lorn wedding ring is a wider ring that also incorporates eight separate knots. In this case eight is formed by four triquetra (Trinity) knots alternating with four longer Celtic knots.
